Meditation

Medical science is now extolling the health benefits of daily meditation practice. As a tool to place your mind in to deep meditation, the music of “STAR” is very powerful. While some people may presently consider the use of music in meditation as distracting, BrainHeart Music has been shown to achieve deep and fulfilling meditative experiences. This is a highly significant use for music and one that we now know to be extremely beneficial to our health and well-being.

Dr Frederick Travis, Director of the EEG Consciousness and Cognition lab based at the Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, has spent over 30 years researching the functioning of the brain of people who regularly meditate. He has found, like many other researchers, that meditation helps to lower blood pressure and heart rate, that it increases the body’s ability to cope more efficiently with stress and encourages deeper sleep. He has also found that during meditation, brain waves emitted by different parts of the brain begin to rise and fall together – which scientists call “coherence”. This increased coherence changes the quality of the functioning of the brain, including intelligence and creativity.

In other words, the more you meditate, the brainier you become.

Dr Travis also found that the more a person is in a meditative state the more coherence can be seen in all parts of the brain. EEG (electroencephalograph) measurements of a brain from a person who regularly meditates reveals that their whole brain can function at a coherent level all the time. Yet their brain can also function on an everyday level too – even though they are producing totally coherent band waves including theta, alpha, beta and gamma frequencies all at the same time.

The point here is that the brain is able to remain totally coherent (in bliss) but is also able to function at an everyday level. To a normal doctor this phenomenon would seem impossible and yet Dr Travis can now measure it and see it.

The music of “ S T A R ” contains powerful sound frequency vibrations that induce a state of total brain functioning and that create, within the listener, a feeling of bliss.
